The Wheatsheaf - Loughborough
| The Wheatsheaf was built around 1800 by miners at the Swithland slate mines as their place to meet after a tough day. It is the most recent in a long chain of restaurants, hotels, bars and pubs run, owned and refurbished by the Dimblebee family, since 1949. As the locals will be pleased to tell you, they have many happy memories of their days in one of 'Dim's Inns'. Oak pews, an open fire, and stacks of passion on a variety of interests, deliver a warm unique atmosphere. Our daily specials continue to be praised for both their seasonal variety and traditional English faire. We strive to raise the standards of quality and value with fresh daily delivery of some of the the most succulent cuts of meat, poultry and vegetables. Our customers tell us this is the standard to which others hope one day to enjoy. We prefer to think of it as our normal. |
