The New Inn Bromsgrove

Set out for a lovely meal for my son's birthday. This restaurant had been recommended to us. Upon arrival after asking for a table we were told we werent sure if they had the cutlery. We were told we would be squeezed in. I asked for the menu and the choice was limited ( I have coeliac disease). I asked if the gravy on the carvery was gluten free and was told no and there was no alternative suggested. I discussed turned to discuss this with my family and other people came in and were told there was no spaces available until she realised she recognised the lady. Suddenly she had a lovely table for her and her family. I was pushed over and when the new customer said I was first she comment that I was being served, when explaining I wasnt, the lady serving replied saying "well you will be in a minute" it was at that point I left. What a disappointment.

Lan Tong Thai Restaurant Nottingham

Parts of the resturant are really tired, green melomine tables, cheap wine glasses, paper napkins, but then the food is cheap and somehow the place has a comfortable feel, a bit like going out to dinner 20 years ago, there's something kitsch and pleasant about the place. The waiter (who turned out to be the owner) was really pleasant (though the hiking trainers and suit combo was interesting!). The menu, like the decor, was dated. but the unforgivable thing about this place THEY MICROWAVED THE STARTERS. not only did i hear the ominous "ping" but the starters were rubbery, processed tasting and clearly out of a freezer and not freshly made, unforgivable. I really hope they re-do the menu and start cooking fresh because at the end of the day thats what matters. Also, there are 6 reviews on another site with 5 stars - they are so clearly written by the same person - which i suspect is the owner. don't do that, i really hope the owner checks this site and reads my review, i really really wanted Lantong Thai to be my new favorite Thai place, but you need to be cooking from fresh. (and please dont put any more fake reviews on to try and cancel out the negetive ones - listen to your customers, make the changes needed, then the genuine good reviews will come)

We have literally just left it. We came as a group of 4 and very rude waitress told us straight away: we are full, you need to leave. We were stunned.... Customer service level zero. Food and place looks nice but after the way they treated us I would recommend to avoid it at any cost.

Cwm Ciddy Barry

Having been a long standing patron of the Cwm Ciddy in Barry for a number of years we had watched it decline in recent months and had not visited. This week, my mother and I really felt like a Carvery dinner and decided to try it one more time. What a mistake! The first shock was the quality of the beef being served. It was riddled with fat and Very un appetising. The veg was also in a terrible state. We pointed this out to the chef serving the food who grudgingly replaced the roast potatoes. The serving of meet was measly. About 1 thin full slice and a couple of "mis cuts" We proceeded to our table with not a very good impression. At this point my mother also pointed out that the plates were cold and that they were dirty. Sure enough i checked the outer edge of my plate and could clearly see and feel the previous persons dinner on the plate. At this point I decided I must complain and called the waitress over. She was extremely embarrassed and had to concur with our complaints. Instead of taking out our frustration with the poor waitress I asked to speak to the manager. We sat there for over 10 minutes waiting for the manager to come and have a chat and nothing happened. So I decided enough was enough. We didn't want another meal so we got up to go to the bar to pay for the drinks. As we rounded the corner I found out waitress talking to a shortish bald chap who I assumed was the manager. I approached him and introduced myself explaining that we had been long time patrons of the restaurant and we extremely saddened to have seen the place lower its standards so far. The manager was completely ambivalent to our complaints. I even offered to take him to the serving area to see what his comments were but he refused. Anyway, I offered to pay for the drinks, informed him that we wouldn’t be coming back and left with a very very poor impression how the place is currently being run. A very poor show. I recommend you avoid this carvery. To add insult to injury, the waitress suggested to the manager that the drinks should be on the house (£2.70) but he refused....

The first time we at at the peony it was loverly and have been a fair few times however the quality of our takeaway meals has decreased. Tonight we ordered dinner for 4 and two of the meals were not up to scratch. The hoysin sauce separated and the duck was cold as well as receiving the wrong meal. All the peony had to say was come back and we will replace it, not acceptable whist the rest of the family where eating. I will not be eating there again as this is not the first time this has happened.

Excellent village pub with jovial landlord. The food is always fresh and local, and of good quality. Ive never left there hungry. Definately worth a visit. Also look out for their curry nights - 8 curries cooked by English chef trained in India, with all accompaniments. Next curry night is Friday 1st July 2011.

I totally disagree I use the oriental pearl regularly and I have nothing but praise for their service. Everyone is always really helpful and they even brought me some wine at xmas (although that may just be a sign I eat too much chinese food!) As for the food... I love it!!!! The best selection of vegetarian food I have found!

Sunday lunch with a difference! I use to eat from Kam's take away in Pentre and I can honestly say his restaurant exceeds the standards. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. The food was delicious and restaurant was spotless. 10/10

Really nice food, good service very friendly. The fish is battered there not bought in and fills the plate. OK frozen chips is not something that all people. What can you expect for 2 for £10 Brilliant value.
